Landmarks
The houses in the slideshow are landmarks in my neighborhood because they are the homes of my parents. I grew up in both houses celebrating with family and enjoying holidays. Whitney M. Young is regarded as a landmark because it is my current high school and one of the best high schools located in Chicago. Moreover, the Victory Monument located in Bronzeville is a major landmark because it displays the African American men who fought in WWI. In addition, Pershing West-my middle school- is considered a landmark to me because it was the middle school I attended and graduated from in the Bronzeville community. The Harold Washington Cultural Center is a landmark in Bronzeville that hosts plays and musicals. The Operationpush Headquarters is a landmark in Chicago because it was built by civil rights activist, Jesse Jackson. Lastly,, the Dusable Museum is a landmark in Chicago because it contains exhibits that tell about black history.
