Earthquake and Tsunami strikes Chile

     In recent reports, Chile has experienced a major earthquake measuring a great magnitude of 8.3. The Northern coast of Chile was hit and caused the swaying of buildings and occurring of tsunamis in small villages. Minor quakes followed the first measuring greater than magnitude 6. Moreover, the city Illapel had experienced many houses collapsing and the electricity going out, leaving the city a huge predicament. It was also found that 3 people died due to the tsunamis in Chile.
     According to Fox News Chicago, a magnitude of 8.8 quake and causing tsunami in south-central Chile in 2010 killed more than 500 people, destroyed 220,000 homes, and washed away docks, riverfronts and seaside resorts. That quake had divulged so much energy, it actually it shortened the Earth's day by a fraction of a second by changing the planet's rotation. Similarly, ABC News stated that there were tsunami waves of more than 10 feet that were observed in Coquimbo, Chile, north of Santiago. Forecasters predicted minor flooding of beach and harbor areas as well as strong and unusual currents that could continue for several hours. And CNN provided the public with a video of filmed in Chile during the earthquake.
